Ook de toonhoogte is hetzelfde.<br>Het verschil zit in de klank. De bugel klinkt warm en donker (door sommige kinderen vaak aangeduid als &#8216;laag&#8217;) terwijl de trompet juist heel helder en direct klinkt. Het geluid van de cornet zit hier enigszins tussenin. De cornet is vooral een heel wendbaar instrument.<br>Veel trompettisten gebruiken de bugel, wanneer ze meer gevorderd zijn, vaak als 2e instrument. Ook voor lessen op deze instrumenten kun je bij mij terecht. De trombone is met zijn schuif natuurlijk een ander verhaal.
